The sea environment is highly windy and without professional port crane facilities, the hoisting process is easy to cause collisions between containers and offshore floating facilities and hulls. CIMC Yangzhou Base Offshore Container is mainly used for transportation of equipment between fixed or floating facilities and ships.
CIMC Yangzhou Base Offshore Container Introduction
- Offshore certificate issued by BV, LR or DNV
- Wide range of product lists from CCUs to workshops, baskets, reefers, accommodations.
- Provide bespoke products to meet the clients’ requirements.

Classification of Offshore Container
1.Offshore Container — Transportation
Offshore Containers for transport, including general containers, open top containers, tanks, bulk containers and special containers (such as offshore hanging baskets), etc., have production characteristics close to standard containers, but have higher standards in design, materials, technology, welding, and inspection, especially welding process and NDT, must be certified by the classification society.
2.Offshore Container – Services
Offshore Containers for services are used in offshore oil platform service projects, mostly as temporary installations such as laboratories, workshops, warehouses, consoles, and cable boxes.
Electrical safety certification is required if there is electrical equipment on the Offshore Container used for service. The materials used must be fireproof, so they should comply with DNV 2.7-2 safety requirements on the basis of DNV 2.7-1 standard.
Design of Offshore Container
CIMC Yangzhou Base Offshore Container is designed to meet the requirements of high structural strength, anti-dumping, low-temperature use, protrusion, and top protection.
When Offshore Containers are used as laboratories, housing, or for special uses, they need to be designed with safety in mind. CIMC Yangzhou Base Offshore Container has been specially designed to ensure safety during its use of electrical appliances and fire protection.
Processing of Offshore Container
CIMC Yangzhou Base has very high processing requirements for Offshore Container. In addition to a good welding process, qualified welding personnel is essential.
CIMC Yangzhou Base will validate the welding process and select personnel with a certificate of operation to ensure the welding quality of the Offshore Container.
Inspection of Offshore Container
1 Welding Inspection
Welding inspection of Offshore Container, including inspection and non-destructive testing.
Always check the quality of the welding without damaging the welding bead. The entire inspection process runs through the manufacturing process of Offshore Container and is not limited to the final product, in order to adjust the production at any time to ensure welding quality.
2 Lifting Test
In addition to the tests required by the International Convention for the Safety of Containers, CIMC Yangzhou Base Offshore Container also conducts two-point and four-point lifting tests.
The two-point lifting test mainly checks the deformation resistance of Offshore Container in extreme conditions, and the four-point lifting test mainly tests the bearing capacity of Offshore Container.
Neither of the tests allowed for permanent deformation of the Offshore Container during the accelerated lifting of the crane.
3 Drop Test
The main purpose of the drop test is to check the impact of the Offshore Container during lifting and placement to ensure that the cabinet is strong enough to withstand damage from the impact.
